Hi folks -

I was having a email conversation with Victor and he asked if there
was a standard stuff to use for presentations. i outlined the
following but have a question that i know has come up before- is there
a standard presentation Deck floating around? thanks!

If not does someone want to give it a go and create one?

Great question Daniela. It would be excellent if had a standard
powerpoint/keynote slide stack available for use by speakers.

We should look into developing one.

I think sharing presentations is a great first step.

But rather than standardised presentations, as I know personally I
cater for the audience and its different each time, we should instead
standardise our messaging. So we could have a list of examples of what
DataPortability would look like ie, I've used an example of Flickr,
SmugMug, and Photoshop online enabling me to store them on SmugMug,
allowing me to access the community of Flickr, and allowing me to edit
them on Photoshop - which illustrates its a win for the consumer and
no one loses.

I've also found I get the same questions getting asked. For any new
speakers, I can imagine getting thrown off when asked.
Some typical questions I can think of right now are
"Why would consumers care"
"Why would vendors care"
"How do I get involved" (believe it or not, a difficult question given
how complex things have become)

I think there is quite a bit of work involved there, and based on the
way we are structuring the work at the moment, we should create a
specific taskforce to do this. Let us know if there is anyone
interested to spear head this. I'm happy to help you get started and
offer input where needed, but I just don't have the bandwidth to drive
this.

"Negative advocacy bleeds across the Web".. seems what's happening to
this group recently.. due to some "official arrogance" perceived by many..

As leaders, please listen more to opinions (and if can be less arrogant as
the project's spokesperson or sth...) "Angry Customers Tell 3,000" --

Why Brand Advocacy Matters

.. yes, while not directly related to DP, but presumably a good reminder for
"the DP brand".. (in that, plse listen more to the "members" in the "public")..
as you know.. and actually, you know better...

Kind regards,
/ac., my last msg to send to, and recv from, this group, thanks for your patience.
Thank you for all your great works, cheers!
