At the last meeting, we agreed to meet weekly. Unfortunately, I cannot attend today. Please feel free to hold the regular meeting in my absence. I would appreciate it if someone could take notes.
Topics I had intended to bring up:
- StartupBus: Elias is running the "Startup Bus" project, taking a bunch of developers from SF to SXSW in early March. He's said that one of the things he's going to insist is that the projects they create all adopt our portability guidelines. So we, uhh, need some. We will need to have this done by March 9. I don't think that we have time to get legal documents created, but I think that we could have a set of Principles ready for them to agree to (Principia Portabilia?). The work we've already done can be repurposed.
- Meet the new group, same as the old group: As I had said last time, I requested that the Steering Group declare victory on the TOS/EULA work and reconstitute us as the Portability Policy group. They have done so, so we have a new name. Other than the name of the group, nothing has changed. Our goal is still to create TOS and EULA clauses, build supporting applications, and demonstrate to sites that portability is good business.
I look forward to speaking with you next week.
