Hi everyone,

I wanted to share a small project I’ve been working on: the Guide to Indian Data. The aim here was to basically build a repository to help folks explore available datasets for their purpose

The guide currently brings together 168 datasets across 20 thematic areas, spanning surveys, administrative records, census data, spatial datasets, replication packages, and other open-source resources. Each dataset page documents things like geographic and temporal coverage, access conditions, key variables, potential use cases, and limitations. It automated it to get updated with regular cadence

I’ve also built an interactive solar map of the Indian data ecosystem. The thematic areas appear as “suns,” with datasets connected to the themes they cover, so you can explore the landscape visually rather than only searching through a conventional catalog.
