Station-wise, Hourly rainfall data from IMD now available

Hello all,

sending out this mail to a few of you colleagues in the water/environment/open data domains.

I recently came across a new web app the IMD has published sharing hourly, station wise precipitation data. 

Not sure how long ago this became operational, but it looks to be a big step forward in terms of data availability.

the web app still doesn't allow downloads, that is for govt access only.

I edited the blogpost with this clarification.

You can however access the scraped data. See the blog post for more

Data can be download from IMD website   http://210.212.167.219/  or http://aws.imd.gov.in/ 

Here data available for last 8 days Hourly  dat of AWS, ARG, daily rainfall data of all station in India

Regarding the license for use of this data, I am awaiting a reply to an RTI filed with IMD regarding their 'negative list'of non shareable data. Hoping that the Open Data License, 2017 applies to this.
Will update the page with those details as soon as I know
