Hello, I'm currently working on census data and would love to integrate it with household income. Any idea where I can find the household income on a district level or ward level?

Some data is available here:  http://www.censusindia.gov.in/DigitalLibrary/TablesSeries2001.aspx

Mainly it is from SECC 2011: https://secc.gov.in/welcome -> View results..
You can drill down to Tehsil level.

Also, lot of data available under MNREGA such as:
 http://mnregaweb2.nic.in/netnrega/dynamic_account_details_ippe.aspx

If you find a better source, please let me know. I am trying to map data at the administrative unit level to the grid level on the map.

You won't find a direct estimator of income at either district or ward level, but you'll find proxies, such as consumption expenditure or consumption expenditure categories in NSS surveys at district level. Hardly anything exists at ward level as income proxy in government records. Only alternative measure such as spatial features or web listing of services with addresses would help.
