Hi,

I am looking for shapefiles of reserved forests of West Bengal state, particularly Purulia district. Any leads on where I could access these would be really helpful. Thanks

Best,
Divyajyoti

This link has the reserved forest boundaries from Survey of India https://github.com/ramSeraph/indian_admin_boundaries/releases/tag/forests . You will need to filter out West Bengal though.

Thank you.

But the link to the files did not open for me, showing the error: "502 Bad Gateway". The import through WMS also did not work on QGIS.

Is it working for you? Can you please check?

  link is okay

After clicking the above link, you can download the SOI_Forests.pmtiles file and add it as a vector layer in QGIS.

I tried that, but .pmtiles is not opening in QGIS - "SOI_Forests.pmtiles is not a valid or recognized data source". I am using QGIS version 3.22.

Should I be using a different version?

Thank you,
Sincerely,

I have resolved the issue.

Instead of the .pmtiles file, I used the .geojsonl.7z file. The extracted file could be loaded onto QGIS.

Thanks for the Link. Json files works perfectly in QGIS. However, the Boundaries are not 100% accurate. There is a slight deviation from actual boundaries.
Does any one have ways to correct the deviation by changing the CRS or coordinate system ?

Thanks in advance.
