Hello Everyone,

I would like to share a new interactive tool I’ve developed for exploring Indian Legislative Assembly election data: India Assembly Detailed Map.

While there is a lot of election data available online, it can often be hard to visualize or filter for specific insights. This tool aims to bridge that gap by providing a user-friendly, visual interface to explore constituency-level results.

Key Features:
  • Visual Representation: Map-based visualization of election results across all states.
  • Advanced Filtering: Easily filter data by candidate age, gender, category, and victory margins.
  • Analytical Layers: Switch between different map modes to see vote shares and performance trends.
  • Direct Sharing: Generate links to specific filtered views for easy collaboration or sharing.
You can access the map here: https://garudadevdataservices.github.io/indian_mlas/

I hope you find this resource useful for understanding the electoral landscape better. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or suggestions!

Best regards,
Akula Guru Datta

Hi Akula,

I just went through your tool and found it to be very interactive and informative. However, I wanted to highlight a discrepancy related to Assam’s assembly seat count.

In Assam, there are currently a total of 126 Assembly constituencies, and during the 2021 Assembly elections (before delimitation), there were 123 constituencies. However, when I filter the state as Assam in your tool, it shows 133 seats.

Additionally, when I apply the category-wise filter, the seat counts for SC and ST constituencies are displayed, but the General seats show a count of 0

I wanted to bring this to your attention for your review and correction.

Kind regards,
Pankaj
