Looking for a Data Visualization Consultant

IWMI is scouting for a data viz consultant to create visualizations on the Solar Irrigation Page in India Water Portal to share relevant literature, data and media related to solar irrigation to advance the debate around solar irrigation in India and to support GOI’s flagship program to solarise irrigation ‘Kisan Urja Surakhsha evam Utthhaan Mahabhiyan’ (KUSUM)
The Consultant Will:
1. Understand the existing ideas from the IWMI team and come up with relevant data visualisation or infographic options. Currently there are a couple of matured ideas which need to be converted into dynamic data visualisation. The visualisation should be compatible with the existing layout and requirements of India Water Portal and should load even on low internet bandwidth.
2. Convert available solar compendium of 16 case studies into a digital and interactive format for the web. (Available as PDF here)
3. Develop a visualisation page around
‘solar-powered irrigation’ (Similar visualization efforts on rural sanitation (here) and develop/modify the initial
ideas that we have. Consider adding other large public datasets to this –
agriculture census, minor irrigation census – to highlight relevant links with solar
irrigation expansion. See below
4. Develop 4 new dynamic data visualisation or infographics based on the featured articles on the solar topic page. IWMI can guide in developing new ideas.
