I created a simple page that shows the IMD alerts for a given location. That is easy to look and keep track of.

I am wondering if there is any interest in converting the weather radar data into digital format and publishing it.

Currently it's available as gifs/pngs on mausam. Who would be the consumers and what format would they want it in?

For my own interest, i've wished it was available as transparent png raster tiles. That will just make it easy to overlay on top of any other data. If these tiles were also temporally archived, that would be what most folks would need.

More work might be needed to integrate it into other websites though.

Is there a way to get the radar data wrt grid coordinates associated with relectivity(in dBZ), mean velocity(in m/s) and possibly precipitation?
