Hi everyone,
I've created a web tool to explore the distribution of Indian sublanguages at the sub-district level, based on the 2011 Census data. The maps are interactive and allow users to view language distributions both individually and cumulatively (by summing percentages of selected languages).
🌐 Live Website:
https://garudadevdataservices.github.io/language_map/
💻 Source Code:
https://github.com/GarudadevDataServices/language_map
🗺️ Features:
Interactive sub-district level visualization.
Select multiple languages to view their combined presence.
Works best on desktop — it might take a few seconds to load.
Shows granular linguistic diversity not easily seen in district-level maps.
I've attached a sample screenshot showing Bhojpuri distribution. You can explore other sublanguages or select multiple together.
Would love to hear your thoughts, feedback, and suggestions!
Thanks,
