Dear friends,
We have three non-paid place-based courses for the month of March happening in Kundapura and Bidar.
These are field-based making intensive courses, hence we can accommodate only 10 learners in each.
There’s a simple form that takes no more than 30mins to fill.
Apply soon! You can find the link to applications on course pages.

1. Panchayats & Participatory Futures - Apply by 27th February: https://livinglabs.institute/course/panchayats-participatory-futures/

2. Flavors of Memory
 - Apply by 5th March: https://livinglabs.institute/course/archiving-food-stories-and-recipes/

Panchayat & Participatory Futures is part of a series of place-based learning-through-making offered by School for Community Wellbeing at the Living Labs Institute. In the first episode of the series we will focus on learning about local self-governance of public water infrastructures of Aluru gram panchayat through making public speculative dashboards. For this course we build on our ongoing work of Mapping Public Water Infrastructures of Aluru Gram Panchayat. The key prompts the course will respond to are:
  1. What are and could be the static and dynamic forms of information linked to water systems that could support ongoing practices of local self-governance of water?
  2. In what ways static & dynamic information can be added to, annotated and analysed by the local communities and stakeholders across departments?
  3. What forms a public dashboard could take to help local communities and stakeholders across departments navigate and negotiate with their different matters of concerns of water governance?

A note on Living Labs Institute: LLI is a learning space grounded in place-based approach, where learning unfolds within the communities of Bidar, Kundapura, and Channapatna. Living Labs Institute is the convergence of our collective thoughts and actions to serve as a place-based institute fostering transdisciplinary learning-collaborations to imagine, construct and pursue alternative pathways of differential development.
