Hi,
I'm trying to finish off a research paper and would like to be able to scrape specific violations of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). It's not hard to do by hand, but requires selecting states, courts on a map and then by-passing a captcha to get to relevant cases. Seems intended to thwart machine access...
best wishes,
Peter

Hi Peter,

We have done it and if you are interested in analyzing specific IPC trends we can help you with that.

Let me know your needs.

Hi Peter,

I have never had the chance or the need to scrape Ecourts yet. But is it possible if you can share an outline of what all information you need, and exactly how do you get it.  I can run it once and see if there is any script that can help out for the same.

Thanks & Regards-

Dear Pradeep and Rahul,
Thanks so much for your helpful replies.
Here's a quick and dirty extract of the screens I meet trying to identify and then extract a single case and the judgment passed by the court--to illustrate the nature of the challenge!
best wishes,
Peter

Hi Peter,

We at CivicDataLab are building a pipeline to scrape and parse case level data from eCourts for our interventions in judiciary space for creating datasets for child rights and section 66a cases. I would want to hear more about your use case, if you could please elaborate. You can reach out to us at in...@civicdatalab.in with more details about your use case and we can discuss. We'd be happy to help.
