NPD Week: Discussions on the future of India's Non-Personal Data (NPD) framework

Hasgeek conducted a study with 50 founders, product managers, engineering heads and investors, gathering their assessment of impact of the Non-Personal Data (NPD) framework. The study was conducted between November 2020 and January 2021.

Drawing from some of the core concerns which the tech and startup community members shared, Hasgeek is organizing NPD Week between 22-29 January. Participate in the NPD Week to  voice opinions and to make recommendations for future iterations of the NPD framework.

Highlights of NPD Week:

  1. Startup and policy representatives - Deepa Venkatraman (Nilenso), Shweta Rajpal Kohli (Sequoia), Sameer Brij Varma (Nexus Venture Partners), Ashish Aggarwal (NASSCOM), Thiyagarajan M (Upekkha), and others will discuss the ramfications of NPD framework and the requirement to register as a data business. 

  2. Parminder Jeet Singh from the CoE will present the CoE’s thought process behind the changes made in NPD V2. This is on Saturday, 23 January, at 6:20 PM.

  3. Discussion with policy heads from EU (Mozilla) and Asia (Amazon) on NPD’s impact on competition, and how NPD is placed vis-a-vis global data regulation landscape.
