there are no adapters for derby, hsqldb or h2 in datamapper 1.x and I guess since datamapper 2.0 is on its way those adapters will must likely never come to datamapper 1.x but hopefully they will see some light with datamapper 2.0

ah, thanks for the insight. Do we know when Datamapper 2.0 is scheduled for release i.e. tentatively ?

btw, I failed to mention that I'm running under Jruby and that I guess then the objective would to connect via jdbc or is everything targeting Jruby relying on Java Data Objects ?
