Hey Mayron,
Welcome aboard. I'd like to tell you that there is a twelve step
program
or something that you have to follow to become a full-fledged member,
but it's a lot less formal than that. We pretty much just make it up as

we go along.
What I'd like to ask you is how this effort looks from the user end.
Most
of us are vendors and only know what it looks like from the
manufacturing
side.

Hi Steve,
Well what are the 12 steps?

I have to say, I went to the group page and its intimidating even for a technical person. the page should be more inviting.

Hi Mayron,

Great to see you here on the site. We need more input from the plant
side, and your experience as an IT professional is a welcome addition.

As you may have noticed, the most recent activity on the site has been
the work Steve has been putting together for the common product and
other services. The intention here is to define a way that common
plant data such as customers, products, and employees can be shared
via a web service. The advantage to you is the ability to maintain
this kind of information in only one location, knowing that all of the
vendors using DataFusion services will always be up to date.

For E-Tech's part, we are working on the standard services that will
be available on our rail systems. At this time, we are concentrating
on those services that would bind the data from the various equipment
that is most relevant to the rail system. This includes communication
to wash, dry, and finishing equipment primarily. Our starting point
is to make available the services that facilitate communication to
this equipment, as well as historical data. These services will allow
DataFusion consumers to gather the most recent load at any available
location, or a history of data from a specific location from a time
period.

We'll be posting that documentation here when more services are
available for testing at this link (also shown on the home page):
