Dear all,

I am happy to announce availability of DataCite's OAI-PMH service. The
service can be accessed at http://oai.datacite.org

OAI-PMH is Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting.
3rd party services, e.g. a library catalogue, can utilise this service
to harvest DataCite's metadata records from our Metadata Store (MDS).
Our implementation of OAI-PMH supports representing metadata in Dublin
Core and our native metadata format - see documentation at
http://oai.datacite.org for details. The service uses XML over HTTP.
The XML have stylesheets for human readable HTML so please feel free
to explore the service with your browser. We implement current version
of OAI-PMH which is 2.0.

This is our first beta release so we encourage you to test before you
attempt to integrate the service into your production systems. Also I
would love to hear from you how do you plan to use this service.

Last but not least I'd like to thank all who contributed to this
release. Extra special thanks go to Marcin Paluch, CISTI who provided
the implementation of this software.

Best wishes,
Ed
