Using DataCite Facets to understand how DataCite metadata are used and who uses them

The facets provided with all DataCite API queries are an incredibly rich source of information about DataCite metadata usage. This is a draft blog post that I am putting together to accompany the release of a software tool for retrieving these facet data. The blog post includes some interesting (?) observations on how the new resourceTypes added in V4.4 of the schema have been used in the last year.

This is the first open-source software released by Metadata Game Changers - an experiment for sure. I hope that this tool helps the working group take a step towards understanding current usage and identify good (and bad) practices.
