Text on Windows 10 is just not as dark (and readable) as Windows 7 or a Chromebook. There have been many suggestions here but no solutions. This includes checking Clear Type as well as downloading programs to change the font. No matter what I try, the text just looks washed out. Any suggestions? winver: 20H2 Build 19042.804
after installing and running asc my pc's (running windows xp sp2) appearance changed. the fonts became thinner, with a shadow highlight. not only was this eveident on desktop but on every program including firefox.
Most probably the default font smoothing registry key for Clear Type is changed by System Optimization of Deep Care after Repair for better performance intention.
The reg. setting wording "uninstall font core" may be changed ("obsolete) :-) in W7 to another wording but will probable still be recognizeable as the same setting :-) In case you want to look for it on your computer.
Advanced System Font Changer is a software to change font, font size on windows in the title bar, menu, box message, or in other components of the computer. With The change system fonts advanced, can change the system settings to display text in Windows. The software is designed to fill the gap caused by the decision of Microsoft created to stop installation options the font size used by the system, Windows 10, Windows Creator Update. Besides, according to the feedback and suggestions received since the publication of the previous version of the program, the demand for a version that allows more detailed settings have appeared.
Advanced System Font Changer is a handy application that was designed to bring better control to the font customization settings in the Windows 10 Creators Update. Besides all the functions of the System Font Size Change, the Advanced System...full software details
Alternate Font Sizer brings the functionality back. You can run it on any modern version of Windows but it offers the biggest benefit on Windows 10 Fall Creators Update or newer versions of Windows as you can manage font sizes on previous versions of Windows from the Control Panel.
The full editing options include a preview feature which can be quite handy as you can see directly how the font of the selected element changes when you modify values. Just hit the preview button after you modified values to see the effect on the text right away.
You can make lots of modifications there such as editing the font type, weight, height and width. Many options are locked by default thanks to secure mode as modifications could result in text not being displayed properly anymore on the system.
Note that at least for me running latest Windows 10 1803 and latest Chrome x64 beta, Advanced System Font Changer can even change the font and point size used in Chrome tabs. Another win for accessibility aficionados.
Aleksandar is correct. You can change the system font settings by installing gnome-tweak-tool (sudo apt-get install gnome-tweak-tool). However, it should be also noted that at this time, doing so also forces you to install all of GNOME-Shell, mutter, clutter, and about 20 other packages.
Also note: The fact that you can't change the system fonts from "Appearance" any longer is not a design decision made by Ubuntu developers. These settings were removed from GNOME 3 by upstream GNOME. That this change appears in 11.10 is a result of the migration from GNOME 2.x to GNOME 3 libraries and tools.
The ability to change font size for title bar, menus, palette title, message box, and tooltip has been removed from Window 10 Creators Update. We had covered about this new change in our Advanced sizing of text and other items removed from Windows 10 Creators Update guide. This means that, you cannot change fonts for these things without manually editing the Registry. Before this, we could access these settings under Display.
Mee too. Big font size in Android app in Galaxy S21 Ultra phone. My font size in system settings is just 1 notch above center. Be nice to have settings within the app itself so it would not affect other apps. Thanks.
Agreed, this feels like a Bitwarden bug. Assuming the Android font size is set to Default, the fonts in Bitwarden look as expected. However, if the system fonts are set to anything larger than default, the fonts in Bitwarden are much larger than the system UI or other apps on the same device.
Any updates? S21 Ultra user, just migrated from LastPass and have semi large fonts on my phone. I can barely understand the Bitwarden interface because it displays only a few letters of a word due to the humongous font.
More indentation can be set by additional non-breaking spaces; this is made easier (and arguably more readable) with the nbsp template, using the 2nd parameter to specify how many .mw-parser-output .monospacedfont-family:monospace,monospace characters to insert: RhiannawbrspacesLea. However, the extra space might seem excessive between some words (unless all nearby spaces are doubled). The width to trigger a wrap-indent depends on the user's browser TextSize zoom level, where larger levels trigger the wrapping more often, and a single space indents more at higher zoom. This type of space-adjusting by inserting individual extra space characters is not generally recommended while editing Wikipedia articles.
That font-size will shrink the text somewhat: German: Der Lange-Annoying-Name-der-Dinge. A highly irritating problem can be the placement of too much foreign (or off-topic text) in the intro section. Much tangent-level wording should be moved to lower sections. However, the use of a reduced font-size can help minimize the glaring impact of off-topic text. Sizes such as 95% or 92% retain the original font shape; however, sizes of 88% or 85% might be needed. To reduce a larger section of text, consider using the paired ... tags (instead of ...).
The default small text-size, with almost no shape, is selected by aa bb cc xx yy zz, which appears as: aa bb cc xx yy zz. Using , to switch from default Arial font to (Georgia font), the small text will appear as: small Georgia-font a b c x y z.
Editors should avoid manually inserting large and small font sizes into prose. Increased and decreased font size should primarily be produced through automated facilities such as headings or through carefully designed templates. Below is one list of font sizing templates that have been tested and are available if needed:
In some apps, such as Mail and TextEdit, you can select a font to use as the default in the app. For more information, search the built-in help for the app. For help using fonts in third-party apps, such as Microsoft Word, check with the developer. See the Apple Support article Contact a third-party vendor.
i think its the same problem i'm having... because the gui labels and things are hard coded for size... but the font is bigger than expected (even with hard coded font size) so the label size created for it is too small... so the text wraps or gets cut off (or both)
"Maybe all editor settings (like configuration init code of tinymce :Configuration ) should be in database.
We could simply have one default "editor profile" (= default settings) for tinymce, one for htmlarea, one for FCKEditor and admins could create new "editor profiles" based on capabilities to see and use certain buttons, plugins, language or filters.
All editors have default profile that works if no other settings have been changed but it would be more practical to be able to change any settings from database the same way you show/hide buttons or select fonts for htmlarea. For FCKEditor most settings are in _2.x/Developers_Guide/Configuration and for TinyMCE in :Index . In the same way activities could simply use some "editor profile" - for example for security reasons some plugins like file manager or the code that editor produces can be filtered both in editor settings and filters of moodle.
In ideal case files of editors can be upgraded separately without overwriting any "integration files" or custom editor skins and we need just some selection code: which editor to use (or no editor at all), where to find the integration files (lib/editor/nameofeditor?) and init code (and if no custom integration were selected the default integration should be used). It would make both changing and adding new editors easier. If we want to add new skins to editors ("kids style editor" with a few big buttons or professor style skin with all buttons and plugins) there must be some way to change either skin of editor, init code of the editor or the editor itself. Themes are easy to use for this purpose but database is more natural if there are lots of possible changes to make.
In fact it would be possible to have individual theme (possiblity to select not only the name of user theme but to select some properties of theme and editor) for all users as a part of user profile or role."
In moodle default font size depents on theme and css files. Htmlarea has separate css file and in tinymce default font sizes are defined in editor theme (advanced) and skin unless you define different custom css in content_css file given in init code.
Another thing that matters is how font sizes for drop down list are defined in htmlarea.php or editor_template.js (tinymce) - default font size in tinymce is 14 pt (4 / medium) and it's not the same as 10 px + different browsers may show different font sizes in a different way, read for example =89c8858b%2D90d2%2D4750%2Da11a%2De599248e6c69&ID=22
