I wish I could one time before I die to go but it doesn't seem like it will happen. I don't have much to add anyhow except if I get a 3d co2 laser I would really like to be there.

Subject: DBUG> DC 15 - symbols & templates
From: Stuart Mitchell

Hi
Been a long time since I posted (or responded) but I have a question regarding symbols & templates.
I did once know the answer but not anymore.
I am (still) using DC 15.
I have altered an existing symbol but one drawing file will load the updated symbol while another will load the old symbol.
I use templates typically to load symbols but even using Insert gives the same differing results.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Stuart Mitchell

If the symbol is loaded into the drawing, it is written into the drawing database. For that file you have to hit the "reload" command and point to the symbol you want to reload from the hard drive, or select "All" if you want all symbols to update to the current version on the hard drive.
The file that loads the new version in the template window probably does not have that symbol in the drawing, or it has a different path name.

Hi Stuart,
To add to Roger's answer - if you want the edited version in the other drawing, you need to save it to the hard drive. To do this, it is easiest to use the Symbol Browser in Drawing mode - right click on the symbol in the SB, and select Save As. You can either overwrite the "old" version by saving it with the same name, or give it a new name, if you want to keep both versions of the symbol.
Then in the other drawing, you can Reload it if you kept the same name, or just insert it if you saved it as a new symbol.

DBUG> Time tracking software
From: Debra Coleman
Date: Nov 28 2018
A belated reply to the time tracker software topic. I use the time tracker
add on feature that is available via Quickbooks so that I can import and
export summaries to keep track of time in various categories for each
project. It’s been hassle free and I’ve been using it maybe about 10 years
– even with an older version of Quickbooks which I mainly use for proposal
estimates and invoicing since my CPA does expense summaries etc. from my
bank and credit card statements. When I have had employees on consultants,
I manually enter their time estimates for each project, but that is not too
tedious. I can send a screen shot of parts of my timer view if anyone wants
to email me.

I am not sure what "edit down" means but hope I've interpreted that
correctly! [Edit down just means that there is no need to include the entire original message to your post, just the part that is relevant (makes my job a bit easier). But thanks for worrying about it! :) -- Evan Shu]
I have been using Allnetic Working Time Tracker for many years ( it was
originally recommended on dbug). Unfortunately, it has begin to behave
badly (auto start and stop are not reliably working). Apparently, the
software is no longer being updated, so I guess it is time to change to
something else. Does anyone have any recommendations? I know that Dcad has
a timer built in, but I need a way of tracking my time for other work
activity as well.
