Every once in a while on a drawing the grid angle will go from 8
points to
only 3. I have looked every where on how to reset this but I cant
seem to
find anything.

Thanks

Go to Grids, Snap Angle, and set the value to 8. The cursor will then
snap at 45deg increments.

FWIW we set ours to 24, for 15deg increments. Makes the cursor feel a
lot less "jumpy."

If you don't have it, you should also download the "Gridlock" macro from the DataCAD website ( http://www.datacad.com/download/frame.htm ) and run it once you have the grids and snap angles set the way you like them.  It will set them the same across all layers.

Go to Grids, Snap Angle, G F10 and set the value to 8. This does not
explain why it happens. I have had the same thing and it's really annoying.
I was going to raise this a few months ago. I believe it is related to the
tangents facility but I don't know the what is going on and am just
relieved when I get back to eight.

You can be in tangents mode and be unaware of it. If you find yourself in
the situation again, hit B F3 and see if you get back to normal.
