I thought that drawing white lines and text over bitmaps and dark fills was covered long ago when bitmaps and/or pen tables first came to be. Any color that is mapped where R/G/B = 255/255/255 is white which includes colors 1 and 30 using the default "Drawing Palette". You can check this by going to the Tools drop down, select Color Palettes then select colors 0 and 30. They will match unless you are using a custom palette. By default, white (RGB=255/255/255) will print black.  If you want a very light grey (RGB=238/238/238), you can use color 29.

But if you want a really close white, you need to change one of the RGB values to a value less than 255. In the example below, I chose to use color 254 and map it to RGB=254/254/254 (I have been using this pen table for years until I retired a few years ago). But, 255/255/254 mapped to the color of your choosing will work as well.

(All of the above using a black background screen, white screens are slightly different.)

Hope this helps.

Update to my previous post. - If you want to see the mapped white color in DataCAD, you need to edit the Color Palette to match the pen table color. In my example, color 254 is a green (RGB=66/111/116) by default. Select your pen table color, hit the edit button and change the values to match the pen table values.

Correction to my previous post. - The sentence "You can check this by going to the Tools drop down, select Color Palettes then select colors 0 and 30."  should have read "You can check this by going to the Tools drop down, select Color Palettes then select colors 1 and 30."

Yes, it does. The last time I doctored a colour was in V6, but I think was just for the screen. The Default.RGB file doesn't seem to do anything,. and I couldn't work out that the custom colour palette was looking straight back at me.
