| Hi, O.k. I set my scale to 1:25, my plot scale & re-saved my go-to-view. Symbol scale set to "on" symbol comes in 25 times larger...!!! Symbol scale off, 100 times larger..!!! Set plot scale back at 1:1, symbols are correct to plan scale..?? I must have done something wrong along the way, but am at odds to what....?? Over & out, Clayton. ... Hi Clayton, There are (let's say) TWO species of symbols, regarding scale issues. The "first" one is the usual scale drawing compatible, as a chair or a table. Those increase its size with the drawing plan itself, if you have a furniture layout you don't need to concern with its size. It will follow the compartment scale presentation. But, there is "another" symbol type, which is size sensitive with plotting scale: as when you draw an electrical fixture/circuit symbology. These ones must display the "same size" independently from the plan scale. It's for these last type of symbols that you benefit when using "lock size" ON. Let's learn on a specific case. I use to print a plan in 1:50 (metric scaletype) and have all my electric symbols drawn in the best size, fit to print in 1:50. If in a drawing detail I need to enhance the presentation or add auxiliary informations to the drawing, increasing scale to 1:25 what would happen with that symbol, if drawn in the traditional shape: it would double the size, isn't it ? So, when you 'lock' its size (a fresh new DataCAD 14 feature) it will shorten it up, and be drawn as it would be in the 1:50 scale. Isn't it a great help for huge drawings and symbology use ?
