Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Technical Consultant to support the Plant Maintenance (PM), Service Management (SM), and Project Systems (PS) modules within our SAP environment. This role will be responsible for technical development, system enhancements, and production support. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in ABAP development, strong problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience working in cross-functional SAP environments, including integration with external systems and S/4HANA.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and enhance ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflows (RICEFW) in SAP PM, SM, and PS modules.
• Work closely with functional consultants, business analysts, and end-users to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Implement custom functionalities, user exits, and enhancements to improve system performance and meet evolving business needs.
• Perform complex debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of ABAP code.
• Conduct unit, integration, and regression testing to ensure quality and stability of developed solutions.
• Stay updated on SAP ABAP technologies and best practices, recommending technical improvements where applicable.
• Provide technical support for SAP production environments, identifying root causes and resolving system issues promptly.
• Participate in blueprinting and design sessions to understand business goals and ensure technical alignment.
• Support SAP upgrades, patching, and OSS note implementation.
• Collaborate across SAP teams including MM, FI, CCS, and BW to deliver integrated solutions.
• Contribute to operational excellence by identifying opportunities for automation, optimization, and innovation.
• Provide rotational on-call support, including Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) support as needed.
• Mentor junior team members and promote knowledge sharing within the team.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years of SAP development experience with a focus on PM, SM, and PS modules.
• Strong hands-on ABAP development experience including RICEFW components.
• Deep understanding of SAP ECC and S/4HANA technical architecture.
• Experience integrating SAP with external systems (e.g., web applications, APIs).
• Proficiency in SAP web technologies and tools.
• Proven experience with performance tuning, debugging, and SAP development lifecycle best practices.
• Familiarity with SAP technical upgrades, support packages, and OSS note application.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
