Role: Network Engineer (Network Team Lead)

Location: Onsite (Bristol, CT)

I have no rate guidance but take note that ESPN does not pay big bucks. I don’t need a very sr. candidate but has the lead experience, so about $60/hr.
 

Network Engineer to execute a strategic vision for delivering customized Operational Support Services to our customers and constituents. This position requires breadth and depth of knowledge to support disparate technologies across the organization within the Operational Support Services framework.

 

Responsibilities

•        Act as Team Lead for the onsite network engineers providing 24x7x365 operational support of a large heterogeneous global network

•        Support network technologies including LAN, WAN, WLAN, DHCP, IPAM, video over IP multicast

•        Lead the resolution of incidents, complete service requests and execute changes

•        Troubleshoot and resolve network performance issues including multicast video

•        Serve as escalation point for tier 2/3 incidents

•        Develop, document, and implement processes, procedures, configurations, best practices

•        Provide mentorship and guidance to a team of network engineers including peer review of all changes

•        Participate in an on-call rotation schedule and off hours network maintenance

•        Provide feedback to improve existing architecture to deliver a scalable, highly reliable network

 

Technical Qualifications

•        At least 5 years of experience working with complex enterprise and data network networks

•        Expert knowledge of WAN, LAN, WLAN and datacenter network architectures, management and operational support

•        Expert knowledge of Cisco NX-OS, IOS and one or more of: Arista, Aruba Networks, Riverbed, Infoblox and Juniper Networks

•        Expert knowledge of BGP, OSPF, Multicast

•        Troubleshooting experience using packet capture and NetFlow

•        NetMRI, Splunk, CA Spectrum, Thousand Eyes a plus

•        Python scripting for network automation a plus

•        Current CCNP certification preferred

 

General Qualifications

•        Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required

•        Strong problem solving skills

•        Highly organized with concentrated attention to detail

•        Ability to manage a number of simultaneous activities while demonstrating accountability

•        Solid communication and interpersonal skills – personable, effective communication style required with presentation experience

•        Proven track record working in a team environment and independently

•        Entrepreneurial spirit, self-motivated and customer focused

•        High emotional intelligence required for internal/external relationship development and management

•        Managed Services experience preferred
