Dear Sir,
This is with regard to your video on stratified sampling. As mentioned a research can utilise multiple methods. For instance, stratified sampling to divide into stratas and then convenience sampling.
I want to ask if we are selecting respondents by convenience ultimately, do we still need a sampling frame?
Stratified is a probability method, wherein first rule is sampling frame.

Thanks and regards,

Dear Stuti

Yes, we can use a combination of sampling.

You mentioned to choose stratified sampling to choose strata, this means there are finite strata and you are choosing a few randomly (by lottery method). So, you're correct in your observation that in stratified sampling there has to be finite population and items are selected randomly from therein.  Then within in strata, you are choosing people on our own i.e. Convenience sampling, so here no sampling frame is reqd.

Such combination is generally called as Quota sampling. I've explained the same in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryfCtnlFGPw&list=PLzUJUtTJcj8QUTu-fc3odVazY4-uoR7Is&index=17&t=324s

Best wishes

1. Plz search previous post in group before posing the question.
2. Don't write query in someone's post. Always use the option of New topic for the new question. You can do this by writing to dataanalys...@googlegroups.com
3. Its better to give a proper subject to your post/query. It'll help others while searching.
4. Never write Open ended queries. This group intend to help research scholars NOT FOR WORK THEM.
5. Never write words like URGENT in ur posts. People will help them when they are free.

7. No Happy New Year, Happy Diwali, Happy Holi, Happy B'day, Happy Anniversary etc. allowed on this group.
8. Few months back there was a facility for asking & sharing the Research Papers. Now there is no provision of asking for the research paper here.

Let’s make a better research environment.
