Greetings of the day,

I have following queries regarding the analysis of Couple's data.

1. What tools and techniques should be used to analyse the data collected from couples?

2. Should the couple(two partners) be considered as a single unit for analysis? Or the scores of each of the partner(male and female) are to be accounted for independently for the analysis?

3. If we want to check the relation between the responses of both partners in a couple, what should be done in that case?

Please specify the tests to be used for data analysis for the above queries. Looking forward for the reply on the same.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Harshdeep Kaur

Dear Harshdeep

The choice of any statistical test/technique depends on the following:
1. How many variables are there in the objective?
2. How did you measure those variables?
3. What is the role of those variables like IDV, DV, Med, Mod, CV, Marker var, etc.

You have to decide about your objectives, sampling unit, sample size, the survey instrument to be used etc.

Best wishes
