Respected Neeraj Sir and other respected members,
I humbly request guidance on the conceptual framework in my thesis. A recent related conversation has helped in clearing some confusion. I hope that this query will remove some remaining doubts.
My query is regarding the analysis of the variable Behaviour .
For my thesis I have taken the model as—
Independent variables (6)—>Attitude —>Intention-—>Behaviour
The thesis is about solar adoption, data is from non-users. This is analysed using SEM (Smart-PLS).
Behaviour is in terms of preliminary action taken--- registered on government website or not (binary variable). With great help from your YouTube videos, I have analysed the relationship between Intention and Behaviour using the Logistic Regression option within SmartPLS.
So, analysis done is as follows:
I.V (6)—>Attitude —>Intention :-Using SEM (SmartPLS)
Intention-—>Behaviour : Using Logistic Regression option (SmartPLS)
Direct paths: I.V (6) —> Intention--- Since SEM analyses is done till Intention as per software
My query is:
1. In the conceptual model --Is it ok to show Behaviour also or do I need to remove Behaviour?
2. The Direct paths based on SEM are from Independent variables till Intention only---Is this ok?
3. In the SmartPLS paths diagram that is downloaded and shown in thesis, do I add the Logistic Regression diagram also on the side to show this final relationship? (The SEM path diagram shows till Intention only)
4. Should I just remove the Behaviour from the thesis itself? (It helps to add value as it brings out an Intention-Behaviour gap as in literature)
I humbly seek your suggestions on this. Your guidance will help in finetuning my thesis and removing various doubts, so that I can submit and defend my thesis confidently.
In gratitude towards your time and effort.
Warm Regards

1. In the conceptual model --Is it ok to show Behaviour also or do I need to remove Behaviour?
It is ok to include behavior but you must be able to defend the same citing previous published papers and using any of the existing theory.
2. The Direct paths based on SEM are from Independent variables till Intention only---Is this ok?
Perfectly ok and again depends son you how you can defend it.
3. In the SmartPLS paths diagram that is downloaded and shown in thesis, do I add the Logistic Regression diagram also on the side to show this final relationship? (The SEM path diagram shows till Intention only)
Use Logistic Regression only if the DV is categorical (preferably 2 categories)
4. Should I just remove the Behaviour from the thesis itself? (It helps to add value as it brings out an Intention-Behaviour gap as in literature)
It depends on you; consult your guide.
Best wishes
Neeraj
