Respected Sir,

When I run EFA on my data, my all factor loadings are quite good as they are above (0.7). But when I run CFA in AMOS, values are CMIN/DF = 5.555, P= 0.000, RMSEA = .104, RMR= .069, CFI = .839 but after connecting majority of error terms my values become, CMIN/DF = 3.2,  P= 0.000, RMSEA = 0.072, RMR= 0.076, CFI = 0.924.
So, my query is that is there any limit upto which we can connect error terms or else we can connect error terms till we get desired results?

Regards

Dear Shalini
CMIN/df value indicates how good the prediction of the model is.
When CMIN become zero all indicators become either 0 or 1 eg CFI=1, GFI=0 and so on
In general, we shd not use MI so much all indicators become zero.
CFI>0.9 and RMSEA<0.1 is reasonably good.
Do remember you need to write the logic for connecting the various statements by a 2-sided arrow.
Best wishes

Thanks for the reply sir!!

But it would be helpful sir if you could give an example or a reference of any research paper that as how to justify the these error connections.
Because the most common  justification for connecting error terms is that if default model is not fitting well so i use modification indices and after that the model fits well.
