Dear group members,
I am running fsQCA on my primary data of 400 respondents. where I have 3 IDV, 1 DV, and a mediating variable.
while running the technique, I have encountered some problems such as
1. after clicking on Standard analysis, a graph does not come; I am directly shown a window where I have to select Present, absent, and present/absent.
2. In the truth table, there are no combinations shown instead every IDV is included separately. refer to the table

raw unique

coverage coverage consistency

---------- ---------- ----------

SU 0.808229 0.00909358 0.792386

PER 0.819483 0.0109022 0.788352

ATT 0.890072 0.0201468 0.835267

ACC 0.858923 0.00582808 0.82442

solution coverage: 0.965635

solution consistency: 0.712961  So I have queries which are as follows
1. Should the mediating variable be treated as IDV?
2. Having such a truth table is normal? If yes, please provide a possible explanation, and if possible, please provide a research paper with the same truth table.
3. Can I proceed to write a paper on such results?
4. Or have I done something wrong while running the fsQCA software?

I will be very thankful to you.

Kind Regards,
Riya

Dear Ria

The default settings use Consistency > 0.8

image.png
Since in your results Solution consistency: 0.712961
No combinations were shown because the consistency threshold was not met.
Plz continue with your results or else you may reduce the consistency value in this menu.

Best wishes

2. Don't write the query in someone's post. Always use the option of New topic for the new question. You can do this by writing to dataanaly...@googlegroups.com
3. It’s better to give a proper subject to your post/query. It'll help others while searching.
4. Never write Open-ended queries. This group intends to help research scholars, NOT TO WORK FOR THEM.
5. Never write words like URGENT in your posts. People will help when they are free.

Good afternoon sir,
Thank you for the response.
This result was with the consistency threshold of .75
I tried generating the result with reduced consistency of .50 (which is also recommended), with .50 consistency no truth table is formed. the results are generated as follow:

Algorithm: Quine-McCluskey

--- INTERMEDIATE SOLUTION ---

frequency cutoff: 4

consistency cutoff: 0.625441

Assumptions:

*** ERROR(Quine-McCluskey): The 1 Matrix Contains All Configurations. ***

Should I report the results with .75 consistency? Will the reviewer and editor accept such results with no combination? Because the main point of conducting fsQCA is to extract combination of IDV for occurence of DV. thank you Riya
