Scale Item Point 5 or 7 same or different for EFA and CFA

Sir good evening
We have developed a scale using EFA. The data were collected by using 5point scale.
Now  we have understood that for better results. we have to to use 7 point
Sir kindly give direction to us.
Can we do CFA by collecting new data using the identified items in EFA with 7 point. scale.

Or Should we use the same EFA Scale Point  type for CFA

1. Respondents should be able to understand the difference between 5 point or 7 point.

2. If after applying EFA, you are use CFA results will be fine. 

3. Both EFA and CFA both concept are different and should be use in different situations and objectives

My question is should we use the same point of scale or different point of scale. for doing EFA & CFAthat is same 5 point scale or any point for example 5 point in EFA nad same items with 7 point in CFA

Generally, EFA & CFA shd never be conducted on the same dataset.

But what are your objectives and why do you think that 7 point scale will give better results than 5 point scale?

Objective: To develop s Scale or questionnaire

1. In order to develop a questionnaire / scale we pooled 50 items

2. Each item has 5 point scale

2. After doing various processes we finalised 28 Items for EFA.

3. We collected data from 410. Final Sample 400.

4. We did EFA.

5. Four dimensions evolved. 18 items selected for CFA.

6. After attending various webinars we would like to use SMARTPLS with global items.

7. So We are in need of a 7 point scale.

8. Since the developed tool by EFA has a 5 point scale we have a question in our mind that it is correct to collect a new data set with 7 points using the 18 items emerged from EFA.
