Respected Group members

I have one query related to mediation and moderation

I have a model, where A to B path is mediated by C and A to B direct path is moderated by M.

There is already literature available on C as a mediator of A to B path and M as a moderator of A to B path. But, this is available in different papers.

Now, as in my case I have the mediator and the moderator in the same model. I have proceeded in this way
Step 1:  Checked A to B. It is significant.
Step 2: Checked for mediation. A to B is non significant in presence of C as C fully mediates the path A to B.
Step 3. Now, in step 3 can I test moderation on path A to B. I mean now the path A to B is non significant, will it be logical to test moderation now i.e. the interaction effect of A*M on B.

Or should I check moderation first and then mediation?

The moderator is not categorical. And I am using PLS SEM to test my model.

Please suggest.

Thank you sir for your response.

Sir, I know about Process macros. But, haven't used it. I will study and use process model 5 as suggested by you.
