In the GT phase, am I expected to generate entirely new variables/constructs that have never been tested earlier, or can I also arrive at constructs that are already present and validated in the literature?
Suppose in the GT phase, I identify a construct, say, Work–Life Balance, which is already well-established in prior research. In the quantitative phase, should I then perform both EFA and CFA, or would it be sufficient to perform only CFA, since validated scales already exist?
My confusion is in understanding how GT-derived themes/constructs should connect with the subsequent quantitative phase. Any guidance on how to utilize GT alongside PLS-SEM in a mixed-method research design will be a great help for me.
Thanks, and regards
