Respected sir and group members,

I am conducting a research that has three IVs and one DV. I used smart-pls 4 for structural equation modeling. Further, I wish to check the moderating effect of a categorical variable (investment experience) with 4 categories. After going through few YouTube videos on MGA, I understood that 'omnibus test of Group' is the appropriate way of dealing with this and smart-pls does not allow that at present.

It will be very helpful if I could find an alternative approach to deal with this.

Thanking you

"Omnibus test of group" is not some test in itself Ms. Maneesha. Omnibus tests are a class of tests. The word omnibus means someone who can do everything. :)

Therefore, omnibus tests are a class of tests which test all the possible combinations of variables. :)

An omnibus test (also called a combined test) is an overall test for a whole group of results.

For example, the ANOVA is an omnibus test. The t-Test is a special case of the ANOVA. But, the t-Test is a limited test. The t-Test can test the difference in two groups. If you have three variables, then, in order to compare all of them, you would have to perform t-Test three times.

But, as soon as the number of variables becomes four, the total number of t-Tests required would become 3 + 2 + 1 = 6 t-Tests and you would start becoming psychologically unstable. :)

Therefore, the elder brother of the t-Test, the ANOVA takes the matters in his own hands. The ANOVA, run once, would test all six, run once. :)

Therefore, people like ANOVA are called to be having an omnibus personality. :)

Fun explanation. :)

Protocols of this Group:

1. Plz search previous post in group before posing the question.
2. Don't write query in someone's post. Always use the option of New topic for the new question. You can do this by writing to dataanalys...@googlegroups.com
3. Its better to give a proper subject to your post/query. It'll help others while searching.
4. Never write Open ended queries. This group intend to help research scholars NOT FOR WORK THEM.
5. Never write words like URGENT in ur posts. People will help them when they are free.
6. Never upload any info about National Seminars/Conferences. Send such info on personal emails. And feel free to share any RESEARCH related info.
7. No Happy New Year, Happy Diwali, Happy Holi, Happy B'day, Happy Anniversary etc. allowed on this group.
8. Few months back there was a facility for asking & sharing the Research Papers. Now there is no provision of asking for the research paper here.

Let’s make a better research environment.
