Respected Sir..
Can you please share some reference material or link that explains the whole research methodology to be carried out in sequence for the data analysis.. Where we have..
1. all closed-ended questions
2. All Likert-scale items (ignoring demographic profile)
3. SEM analysis to be carried out

The reason for asking for this is that Sir I have gone through a good amount of papers and what I find is people go for all the techniques even if it is reqd or not..

Like even if using likert scake items.. They look for outliers.. Normality..
Taking already available scales.. But doing EFA.. CFA..
Correlation.. Regression.. SEM.. (reason given that regression to study relationships and SEM is used to further give strength to the findings.. I mean Anything .. Everything... which I dont want to do.. I want to do only that is important and necessary..

Please help with this Sir..as per my case mentioned above.. How should I proceed..
If there is some good paper with similar case..

Thanks and Regards
Iesha

Dear Iesha

Yes, I agree. Max scholars use Statistics like juggling. Somehow there is a misconception that more the techniques used in the paper, it's a better paper.

In all my workshops, I try to sensitize that first you shd know whether your obj is univariate, bivariate or multivariate. Second, comes the decision about how they are measured and finally use Table-1, 2 or 3 to know which test/technique shd be applied.

I explained the entire process in 2 days workshop in Jamia Milia. It's not possible for me to write all that stuff things here but the videos of that workshop are available on

Best wishes
