Good evening

I want to know which point scale should be adopted in questionnaire either 5 point or 7 point.
As in 5 point scale there is one point neutral which does not show any result regarding the variables. So if I will adopt 7 point scale is the analysis remain same or there is change in something

Thanks and Regards
Nidhi

The use of 5 point or 7-point Likert scale depends on the respondents you are dealing with. Think from the respondents' side, are they able to rate a statement on 5 point scale or 7 point scale is a question you have to answer before choosing a scale. the ability to respond often deal with the educational back ground of respondents. in case of highly qualified respondents like managers, CEOs  7 point scale is advisable. but in case of normal persons like daily wage earners, a lower point scale like 3 point or 5 point is advisable.
That's my view point regarding your query.
