Hello Sir !

Sir, in my multiple regression model where one IDV has an insignificant effect at 5% LOS ( though negatively significant at 10% LOS ) becomes positively significant when I run a separate simple mediation model with the same IDV. However there was no mediation found. Only the direct effect became significant and that too positive.

Is it statistically valid ? Also, if valid, how do we report such mixed results ?

Dear Aroma
The essence of Multiple Regression is understanding the multi-collinearity (correlation among the independent variables [IDVs]).
When you include several IDVs together in multiple regression, this particular IDV becomes non-significant due to multicollinearity.
But when you use it only in regression with a mediator, it becomes significant and the mediator is treated the same way, becoming insignificant.
So there is nothing wrong with your data, the results are perfectly ok.
Best wishes
