I want to write a hypothesis to show X negativity affects Y.
What is the best way to write it?
H1 : X significantly reduces Y
Or
There is a negative impact of X on Y
Or
X negatively impacts Y.
Or
There is significant negative relationship between X and Y
Or
X is negatively related to Y

Q2.
Now if results show Beta value negative ( which means X reduces Y) but P value is not significant, so will this hypothesis be rejected or accepted??

Q3And if beta is positive and p value significant than we will say, hypothesis not accepted??

Dear Rajlaxmi
Plz watch the first 3 videos of this playlist: Research Methodology
Statistics does not know the English language, it looks for the number of vars, your intention, role of a var and the way it is measured.
1. All 5 ways of writing hypothesis are correct
2. p>0.05 indicates Null hypothesis accepted, hence whatever beta value you get is as good as zero.
3. p<0.05 indicates Null hypothesis rejected and the positive beta will indicate that your directional hypothesis is also rejected.
Best wishes
