How to check if the ISBN number allotted by the publisher is authentic or not.

If we want to publish a book under any publication, what needs to be verified.

Respected Sir,

Most of the books which I am searching on the link provided by you, a message gets displayed that they don't have information for the book

Moreover, the website is providing independent service and not affiliated to any government agency.

How would I conclude the publisher which I am going to approach will provide me with an authentic ISBN number.

Please help me in this matter.

I don't think there is any updated site available to justify whether a new publisher is authentic or not. 

For old publishers, check for ISBN no. whether it is authentic. Go to google search , find their books, read reviews etc.

The ISBN checker mentioned by Sir is authentic. I have searched few books of indian writers which are less common and got positive result. You can always believe those site ended with .Gov, .Org, .in or .Edu. But always check if it is .Com.

If the ISBN no. you searched in the isbnsearch.org showing such type of messages then the ISBN no.s are not authentic.
