Good morning, ma'am.

When selecting a research topic, you need to explore it on your own. No one else can decide a topic for you, though others can certainly guide you on how to begin the process of conceptualising one.

I would suggest starting with a research problem rather than a topic. Try to identify a real-world problem that exists in the environment, not just in our thoughts. For example, in the IT sector, high attrition rates are an observable issue. Similarly, you can think of any practical problem or challenge currently prevailing in the finance domain.

After identifying the problem, the next step is to thoroughly review the existing literature in that area. This will assist you in comprehending the existing research, its findings, and the gaps in the field. Once you identify a clear gap, you can determine whether your paper will be conceptual or empirical.

You can also develop a research paper from your thesis conceptual model by identifying unanswered questions or under-explored relationships. While doing this, make sure you read recent and high-quality studies, as you will need to clearly justify the contribution of your work.

A good starting point is to read review papers, as they provide a broad understanding of a research area and help in narrowing down a suitable topic. Overall, understanding the environment and engaging deeply with the literature is the best way to identify a meaningful research topic.

Thanks & Regards
