Respected sir and members,

I hope you are doing well.

I am currently working on a PLS-SEM model using SmartPLS 4 and had a small methodological query regarding moderation analysis. Specifically, I wanted to seek your guidance on whether the interaction effect should be interpreted using standardized coefficients or unstandardized coefficients.

While some literature (e.g., Becker et al., 2023; Dawson, 2014) recommends interpreting unstandardized interaction terms, PLS-SEM studies commonly report standardized path coefficients. This has created some confusion regarding the most appropriate approach for reporting and interpretation.

I would be grateful if you could kindly share your perspective or suggest best practice in this regard.

Thank you very much for your time and guidance.

Warm regards,
Kiran
