Respected Sir and members

The query is about the quality assessment of journals in the business domain. There are ranking and indexing services but I find variation among their evaluation.

- Many of the ABDC 'A' category journals are at the lowest rank by ABS '1'.
- Journals ranked lower by ABDC are at the higher place by ABS.
- ABDC 'C' category journals are in Scopus Q1 and B category journals are in Q4.
- Again some ABDC 'A' category journals are in ESCI (WoS) category only and many of the ABDC 'B' journals are not in WoS and 'C' are in SSCI or SCIE.

They may have different methodologies for the evaluation but how should we scholars evaluate.

Dear Sumit,

It is just like a student who pass Economics may fail in Sociology. For a researcher:

1st priority is your university/ institution guidelines, where you are doing PhD.
2nd priority should be given to your dream institution/ university where you wish to work after PhD.
If you are working then the priority should be your institution's regulatory body.

This is my understanding.

Best,
