Dear Friends

From quite a long time I was thinking of making videos of AMOS but it was such a herculean task as it involves so many issues and concepts. Finally, I dared to touch this subject.

It is a very long playlist. The first four videos are:

AMOS-1  (Getting started: Rules of AMOS): https://youtu.be/OtS_4U05FV8
AMOS-2  (AMOS Interface-Various Tools of Toolbar): https://youtu.be/panQWdau7e4
AMOS-3  (Colors and Common Errors in AMOS): https://youtu.be/QoYmcjQcMus
AMOS-4  (Plugins in AMOS): https://youtu.be/ML2jowsAi60

I am working on the editing of rest of them.

Happy Learning
Neeraj

Thanks for your overwhelming response to the productive outputs of this group. We are now having a group of 800+ participants. In order to incorporate the suggestions given by some members of this group, all the participants are requested to ensure the following:

1. Please share the 'Paper Title' along with links.

2. Please spare your valuable time to fill the questionnaire of other researchers as you expect others to fill yours.

3. Please don't mix your query with someone else's query.

4. Try to help other researchers in an active manner, i.e. Please show concern for all. We have been observing that some members only seek papers from others, but seldom help others in any manner.

5. Please forward the information of Seminars, Workshops, Conferences, etc. to help all.

Now you can login directly to this group using our new web url: http://researchscholars.club/

Dear Sir and Group members,

I have one query regarding plugins.

When I try to run Master Validity plugin in AMOS, it gives error "Queue Empty".
Also, when I run pattern matrix builder then again it is giving error , " variable contains illegal character",  though data is running otherwise .
Master Fit plugin working and other plugins working but these two not.

Kindly help.

Plz ensure that your var name does not contain space.
Actually try to give var name as small as possible without any special character.

Respected Sir,

Still it is giving error " queue is empty" while running master validity.
It's creating HTML file in background but it's incomplete n giving error.
I have given proper names to latent variable without any space, still error is coming.
I will share model with u.

Thanking you

Correction in the Scale Construction Video Part-2
At the timeline of 5 min 4 sec to 5 min 14 sec

I said that when we add Q6 in the previously existing dimension which in case is new, turns the scale into formative.

Mistakenly I said that for checking its measurement model we must use AMOS

It should have been PLS-SEM.

Plz note PLS-SEM can be used for both Formative and Reflective scales while AMOS can be used only for Reflective scales.

Dear Apeksha

I got the similar error and on repeat trying it is giving the same error:
Error running plugin: Queue is empty

But in the folder, an HTML document is generated which gives the results. It seems the pop-up of this HTML document is missing.

How many of you wondered why the results in AMOS differ after IMPUTATION?

Well, the answer lies in the name of this technique itself i.e. Covariance Based SEM

I've tried to explain the background story in AMOS which shall answer this riddle.

Dear Friends

MIMIC Multiple Indicators Multiple Cause Models are of two types:

1. When a formative construct is IDV and we have min 2 constructs or 2 items or '1 construct & 1 item' as IDV.
This is done to get the model identification in CB-SEM.

2. When a reflective construct is DV and items/binary demo vars are IDV.

I've explained the first one in this video:

The second type of MIMIC Modeling contains a reflective construct as DV and some vars )generally demo vars) as IDV.

In AMOS, we can work on higher-orders constructs using the Two-stage approach.
It includes working on al lower-orders (Stage-1) and then use these construct scores for the higher-order constructs (Stage-2).

Dear Friends

Prof Gaskin is a blessing for the researchers.

His plugins, particularly Stat tool Excel utility is used by millions for computing the Convergent and Discriminant Validity of the constructs.

But few people know or use this file for the computation of Convergent and Discriminant Validity of the higher-order constructs too.

In this video, I've explained the procedure for the same:

Dear Friends

In the previous post of this thread (AMOS-28. Convergent and Discriminant Validity of Higher Order Construct using Gaskin's StatTool file), I wrote about using Gaskin's StatTool file for the higher order constructs and we'll get the Convergent and Discriminant Validity except for Rho and HTMT.

If you are using AMOS and working on higher-order constructs and also wish to report Rho and HTMT then we've to use the Excel Construct Validity Calculator.

I've explained the working of the same in this video:

Dear Friends

The primary function of AMOS and SmartPLS software is to compute the construct scores.
Once the scores are computed, we can use the item scores and the construct score to compute the rest of the statistics.

Now in SmartPLS, once we compute the score, we can go ahead with the rest of the analysis in Excel itself and the results of all statistics are exactly the same as if they are computed by SmartPLS.

But things are not so in AMOS. In AMOS, the calculations on the basis of the IMPUTED score do not match with the AMOS calculations. Hence, all AMOS users must keep this in mind and should use the IMPUTED score in calculating the HTMT, Rho, etc of the higher-order constructs.

I've explained this dilemma in this video:

Dear Friends

Moderated Mediation is a special case of Mediation where we add a moderator in a mediation model and see its effect on the mediation.

Plz note in the moderation analysis, if the effect of IDV on Med becomes insig (because of the  multicollinearity) then it will have an effect on the Mediation too as then the Indirect effect will become zero.

I've explained the concept of Moderated Mediation in detail in these videos:

Now I've explained the working of the same in AMOS in these videos:
