Dear Faculty members and research scholars,
Hope
I am working on a questionnaire related to the Challenges of digitalization on rural working women in a district of Bihar (Empirical Study) on homeless women who have not registered their shops as MSMEs do, are roadside sellers, and are traditional vendors. I am trying to find out the exact number of these women. I can only observe them working in the market or on the roadside.
Is it a good approach to apply purposive and convenient sampling techniques?
How can I select a sample size in that case, and what methodology will suit this to measure the challenges of digitalization on rural working women in terms of selling the product in the market?

I will be grateful to you for your guidance and suggestions.

Thanking You

Sincerely
Sudha

Dear Sudha

There are 4 formulas for the sample size calculations:

1. Finite population - Primary variable for measuring the obj is measured on Continuous data
2. Finite population - Primary variable for measuring the obj is measured for proportion
3. Infinite population - Primary variable for measuring the obj is measured on Continuous data
4. infinite population - Primary variable for measuring the obj is measured for proportion

Yours is 4th case.

I shall advise you to kindly search for the literature/government reports to find some data (in %) about how much such women have access to digital technologies, this will be p and q=1-p then use the formula n= z2*p*q/e2 to determine the sample size for your work.

For selecting such people, you may use Convenience Sampling or Snowball Sampling.

Best wishes

Dear Sir
What should be the proper methodology to empirically measure the Challenges of Digitalisation on rural working women in terms of selling the product in the market?
Please mention it. It would be a great help for my study.

Thank you for your guidance.

Sincerely
