 3D DATA VISUALISATION SPECIALIST- JOB DESCRIPTION

 This opportunity is for a skilled engineer to develop and deliver the 3D data visualisation tool that will help organisations and  enterprises better understand and predict patterns of behaviour hidden in their data.  This role is for a senior member of the team to join an exciting project developing a Cloud-based ‘Behavioural Intelligence’ platform. 

 The clients product evolved from research performed at the University of Birmingham and has established strategic partnerships with a number of world-class organisations including Logica (CGI) and Fujitsu.

 As part of an incubator program you will receive support from a wider network of both technical and operational team members. This is a chance to join an exciting team building a cutting edge Data Visualisation tool.

 SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

 We require a senior developer capable of expressing complex concepts in an intuitive, easy-to-use 3D visualisation interface. You will need to have excellent design and programming skills and be capable working with complicated mathematical algorithms involved in machine learning. It is expected that the individual will be able to support their technical skills with the ability to communicate both their decisions on technology and their implementation.

 ESSENTIAL SKILLS

Core responsibilities will lie in developing the client-side 3D visualisation and its subsequent integration with an external analytics platform: 

 3D Visualisation interface design and development

 Design and development of underlying data models

 In depth knowledge of using either Java or C# with OpenGL

 3D Visualisation & Graphics

 Excellent ability to visualise and communicate complex analytical data

 In-depth knowledge of development paradigms

 UK-based candidate

 

DESIRABLE SKILLS

 

 Visual C++ development experience building and scaling enterprise-class applications

 Strong Mathematics (Algorithms, Computational Geometry, Data Modelling, Data Mining)

 Cloud Application Management Platforms

 Knowledge of web technologies

 Experience learning a large, active or legacy, code-base

 The job spec focusses the skill-set on either Java or C# with OpenGL. Client has  two legacy demos that are written in Visual C++ so it would be helpful if the candidate can understand this as well. Two government-backed Proof-of-Concepts in are being completed over the next 6 months. For that reason there is a 6 month probationary period after which benefits, pension and stock options will be offered.

 Since the client is  a start-up, candidate will be mostly working from home and will meet up at the University of Birmingham once a week to discuss the project. It therefore makes sense that they are living reasonably close to Birmingham (ie not Scotland!). Client will be using Huddle to collaborate online in the meantime. They’ll be supported by a well known incubator plus consultants and PhD’s from the University.

Need to ensure they are happy working for the defence, security and intelligence market (in addition to our other markets in financial services, retail etc).  security clearance will be applied for.
