Adjunct Teaching Position - Data Viz - CCS Grad Program
Due to some last minute cancellations, we are looking for a design oriented data visualizer who knows R to step in as an adjunct next semester, starting in January.
College for Creative Studies in Detroit is looking for someone to teach Data Visualization II online to students this year. The course is in their MFA in Integrated Design program. Classes are small, usually less than 6 students.
The class utilizes 2 books:
Class lab work: “Data Visualization: A practical introduction” by Kieran Healy
Homework reading: “The Truthful Art: Data, Charts, and Maps for Communication” by Alberto Cairo
You do not need to live in the Detroit area since it will all be online. You also have the option of recording your lectures beforehand rather than having a set time for class. The semester is 12 weeks long.
Pay is competitive with other adjunct teaching positions.
