NMC/NMAIC RA scholarship in Artificial Intelligence

Dear faculty and graduate students.

I am pleased to announce that the New Mexico Consortium (NMC) will provide a $25,000 scholarship to fund a Ph.D. student for research in Artificial Intelligence (AI) from January, 2025 through September, 2025. Note that there is also a limited option for partial postdoc support, described in the attachment.

The NMC is a nonprofit institution established to facilitate research in the state of New Mexico, and specifically to increase research collaborations between universities, industry, and Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). This scholarship is being offered to the 3 Universities in New Mexico through the New Mexico Artificial Intelligence Consortium (NMAIC). 

Application materials are due by 5pm on Wednesday, January 8. 

Three documents are required to be submitted by the deadline: 

1. The applicant should email a 2-page application and a CV that includes the degree the applicant is pursuing, their department, and the expected completion date for the Ph.D.

2. The faculty mentor should separately email a letter of support for the applicant

The applications will be reviewed and an award announcement is anticipated by January 15.

There will be a zoom meeting (https://unm.zoom.us/j/98386014772) on Wednesday, December 18 from 3:30 to 4:00 to answer any questions about the award and applications.
