Greetings civic hackers,
As anticipated, the National Day of Civic Hacking will be May 31 to June 1 (yes, TWO days). See
http://hackforchange.org for details.
According to Jason Best of the Botanical Research Institute of Texas (BRIT, in Fort Worth) we should be able to hold one event there. That would be fantastic! Their operating theme this year revolves around water conservation, which would be a great one to tackle.
I'll work with Jason and his colleague Christina at BRIT to strategize... but nothing stops anyone on this list from getting involved as well. As many of you already know, Steve Rainwater and Stephen Wylie have been on a tear lately evangelicizing for civic hacking, so many thanks to both gentlemen for stoking the community! Now, let's form a working committee.
We're going to need some local sponsors, so be thinking about who to approach. Time is short so let's go!
I'll also be using the Data Libre DFW group on Facebook as well as @MakeDFW on twitter for additional channels.
