Data illustrator is not accepting my percentage data in either format - decimal or as a percentage. The application either reads the data in as text/categorical data which I am unable to adjust via the "data type" manually in app, or converts the data points to dates.

I only have historical data so I cannot read in the original numbers, only percentages. I was able to get around the issues by changing all of my data into whole numbers and labeled them as percentages, but an issue to look into.

Best,
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer, thank you for reporting this issue! We will definitely look into it.

Just to clarify, the percentage data is formatted in the following way: ##.#% (e.g. 76.8%)? Or is it a different percentage format than that?

Thanks for your help,

I am having the same problem, can't convert my percentages into numbers:

I've tried to change it but I did not succeed yet. Any additional tips? Thanks a lot.

Hi,

Currently Data Illustrator uses a second party tool for processing data and recognizing data types. We are working to find a fix for this issue. In the mean time, I would recommend converting the percentage column of your data to be a decimal number (i.e remove the "%" symbol) - please let us know if you continue to have issues.
