Linking color does not work in chrome

It is impossible for me to link a color to a data set. Even when following the tutorial, when I open an example the option is there but when I try to start my own project the option is simply not there. 
The link icon appears huge but when I click on it the only thing that is activated is the color picker. See the picture attached. 
Any help would be much appreciated, then I also wondered how I search for data illustrator on the internet. The only suggestions I get are adobe illustrator tutorials.

Can you share what browser you are using? Also the data seems not imported properly, there are lots of null values in the table.
