Recently both Dashflix and Dashflix mini have stopped working and it
is due to an update on Netflix's Movies at Home section. I found the
problem and fixed it by changing the code in event.js to:
var gNFAtHome = "<tr class=\"or\">[\\d\\D]+?</tr>";

before there were only single quotes around the class='or'.

Thanks Jacob. I've release 1.6 via Apple and the Google project.
Since I don't currently have an active Netflix account, it would be
great if someone could verify the release is sane.

Well Google's link to Apple's site seems to be gone.
The google code one works fine for me.

Is anyone else having problems with Dashflix 1.6 as of today? I seem
to be getting the dreaded "Cannot connect to the Netflix webpage..."
error. Looking in the code this error comes about if the return code
from the GET of gNFUrl is not 200. I can reach the site through the
browser just fine.

Thanks,

Steve

I am having the same problem. it showed up the first time when it
randomly asked me to login/save my cookies again. now everytime it
tries to connect it "cannot connect to the netflix webpage..." i also
can reach the site through the browser fine.

unfortunately, i'm not a programmer of any stripe, so i can't give
more specific details as far as calls or error codes. if i can be of
assistance, i'm glad to help.

thanks,
ted

Ted,

Thanks for the confirmation. That's exactly what I'm seeing on my
two machines also. I'll try to take more of a look into the code and
see if I can debug it a little bit. Javascript is not my forte
unfortunately...

Thanks,

Steve

Hi. I have been writing to some of you guys and others for a number of
weeks now about how Safari v3 is conflicting with dashflix mini 1.5
and 1.6 (safari v2 had no problems). The newest safari, 3.2, doesn't
resolve anything either. Basically, since 3, dashflix cannot find the
safari cookie anymore. I really hope someone can figure this one out
for those of us who love the widget, but can't fix it.

Thanks!
Susan

It's not necessarily based on the cookie, it seems that it has trouble
getting A url from netflix.

Ok. Thanks. So this inability to get the url is resulting in the
cookie error message. Do you think it is fixable? Do you know why it
only happens with Safari 3 (which would seem to indicate that Netflix
can't be the problem if it works with earlier version of Safari)?
Thanks for anything you can do.

don't know what changed, but my dashflix is once again correctly
pulling my queue from netflix. i didn't change anything, so netflix
must have changed something. hope it's working for the rest of you
too.

Are you all using Safari 3?

I must have missed when it was briefly working. It has not worked for
me for months, since I upgraded to Safari 3. My back up is a Netflix
widget for Yahoo Widgets 3 that you can no longer get on the Yahoo
Widgets website. I like dashflix better though.

I am using Safari Version 3.2 (5525.26.12) Today I found my widget
working. It doesn't work when you activate dashboard, but you exit
out of dashboard then come back in my movies appeared. I don't know
if its a weird netflix quirk or what, but I'm going to keep looking
into this. I found an RSS reader to try and see if it would look at
Netflix's feed, but that doesn't seem to work as well.

GoogleReader seems to work fine with the Netflix RSS feeds.

Since the Yahoo widget also uses the RSS code, doesn't that mean that
the problem is with dashflix and not Netflix. Or, since dashflix is
dependent on Safari, why couldn't the conflict be there? Does anyone
know if dashflix still works with Safari v2? The Yahoo widget isn't
dependent on any browser's cookies.

I'm working on a RSS version. Should be less brittle. No promise when
it will be done.
